To reduce the preparation time, I bought ready made pastry sheets, canned blueberry fillings, as well as a packet of almonds from the supermarket. Without the hassle of making the pastry sheet, everything can be done within An hour:)
Procedures for blueberry pastry:
- Place puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured table top or pastry mat (make sure the sheets are dry and cold; once it is wet, it will be difficult to handle) and use pizza cutter to cut pastry sheet into 9 equal square sheets.
- Make a straight cut about 1/2 inches from the edge using a cutter to make two opposing "V" cuts on the corners and keep two of the corners still attached to the edge.
- Egg wash the edges then fold the edges one through the other and press lightly and place square sheets on lined baking tray.
- Egg wash the edges again and spoon blueberry filling into the center square.
- Bake at preheated oven at 190C for 20 mins.
- Place puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured table top or pastry mat (make sure the sheets are dry and cold; once it is wet, it will be difficult to handle) and use pizza cutter to cut pastry sheet into equal rectangular sheets.
- Egg wash the pastry sheets and sprinkle the sheets with almond toppings and sugar.
- Bake at preheated oven at 180C for 18 mins.
