Make your own Bak Kwa (BBQ Jerky)

One day, I chanced upon a website on Bak Kwa (BBQ Jerky) recipe by Jessie. Being curious about how it will really taste like, whether it is even close to the original bak kwa taste, I decided to try the recipe. To my surprise, it is really close to Bak Kwa taste and the meat was very juicy and tender.

For those who wants to try it at home, can follow the recipe by Jessie. Mine turns out better than what I expected:)

My First attempt to make my own Bak Kwa:)

Blueberry pastry & Sugared almond pastry

One day, boyfriend has sweet tooth and craves for blueberry pastries:) Hence, I chose to make blueberry and sugared almond pastries for him, using the recipe from anncoo's blog. When the pastries came out freshly baked from the oven, the crust was crispy and buttery. The blueberry filling was sufficiently sweet and makes a nice afternoon high-tea snack:)

To reduce the preparation time, I bought ready made pastry sheets, canned blueberry fillings, as well as a packet of almonds from the supermarket. Without the hassle of making the pastry sheet, everything can be done within An hour:)

Baked Tofu Cheesecake

During the Lunar New Year, I was really bored staying at home, waiting for the relatives to come over. So I decided to make a relatively healthier version of Cheesecake, Baked Tofu Cheesecake!!

Anncoo, a food blogger, has always been my source of baking inspiration:) I love her recipes and so decided to adopt her tofu cheesecake recipe.

Taken right after removing from oven

Nice cheesy color after chilled for a night :) The texture was so soft and smooth..melts in the mouth:)

Happy New Year

I have made some Pineapple tarts during the Lunar New Year and have received good feedback about it:) The Buttery Taste from the crust and the aromatic pineapple after baked were really good. Can't help but pop a few more tarts into my mouth.. A close up shot of the tarts. Wishing everyone a Happy Lunar New Year!!:)

Traditional Steamed Egg Cake (Ji Dan Gao)

Since this is my first post on the blog, I shall post a recipe on the traditional Chinese Steamed Egg Cake (Ji Dan Gao) that I have adopted from a website, http://www.thelittleteochew.com/2011/03/steamed-egg-cake-ji-dan-gao.html.

My grandma used to make this for me and my whole family loved her steamed cake alot. However, no one managed to learn her recipe in time and she has passed away. Few days ago, dad commented that he missed grandma's steamed cake alot and so I decided to try making it:)

I have made some adjustments to the proportions of the ingredients and below is the recipe that I have used.
